Physical Education

Physical Education (P.E.) is a standards-based, co-educational course that offers a variety of fitness, individual, and team activities.
Fitness concepts and activities such as jogging, jump rope, strength training, cardiovascular fitness training (aerobics), and flexibility training are a major component of the curriculum.
New games and sports including softball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, tennis, football, and dance are introduced each year.
Students are required to dress out (i.e., P.E. shorts/sweat pants/skirts/sneakers), but students do not take showers at the middle school level.
South San Francisco Unified School District (SSFUSD) utilizes the Fitnessgram Fitness Test to measure state fitness standards.
Classes meet every other day for 85 minutes.
